Jul 09, 2016 @ 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM Community Centre, Sector B-1, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi - 110070

STRAW India was call up on to sensitize school going children about kindness to animals in a workshop organized by Anu Malhotra of the Sector B-2 / Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. It was organized at the Community Centre of the colony on 9th July 2016.

Nearly fifty children in the age group of 5 to 12 participated in a painting and drawing workshop wherein they learnt the following:

  1. That animals can feel pain as much as we human beings
  2. That animals are so much like us except that they are voiceless and are unable to express themselves.
  3. That we should be kind and compassionate to animals
  4. That the Golden Rule of “Do unto others what you want others to do to you” applies to animals too.
  5. How to avoid dog bites.

The best part of the event was that some of the parents also joined in and helped out in the session.
