Nature is important to children's development in every major way - intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually, physically and helps build more sustainable communities. However, in today’s fast moving Internet world, children, especially in urban settings, have limited opportunities to connect with the natural environment. We provide that bridge through our humane education programs, by including nature walks to a forest in the vicinity of the school.
Here children take in the nature and get to appreciate birds, insects, plants and trees and how they are inter-dependent for sustainable living. Playing in natural environments increases their motor fitness, balance & coordination and contributes to overall growth and development.
Visits are also organized to animal shelters and sanctuaries where children get a chance to learn about pets that have been abused, abandoned, injured or homeless and how kind hearted people in the city take care of them.
