The Barnyard in South Delhi is a fantastic place for children. Here they get to interact with a number of animals – goats, roosters, geese, rabbits, hamsters, donkeys, horses and of course dogs. They not only take pictures with them, but also get to touch them and get familiar with them.
In this wonderful setting, about 50 children between the ages of 3 to 12, got to listen to the story about the Reptiles of Pampupati where Magar the big crocodile threw the turtles, the snakes, the lizards and the frogs out of his kingdom, only to realize soon enough, that each creature has a role to play and has a special place on this earth and invited them back.
The children also participated in a worksheet activity where the little children did coloring and the older children drew the kind of house that they would provide to their favorite animal.
In case you would like to carry out similar activities for the students at your school or in your colony, please send email to [email protected]. We would love to take it up.
