In April 2024, STRAW India conducted its first Compassionate Classroom-Humane Education program in Hyderabad. This 45-minute session, attended by about 150 students from Grades 2 to 5, focused on teaching children how to safely interact with and become friends with street dogs through a story and by understanding their body language. Through engaging discussions and activities, the program successfully instilled compassion and empathy for street dogs, encouraging children to coexist harmoniously with them and fostering a sense of responsibility towards these animals.
