STRAW India was invited to conduct its Compassionate Classroom Workshop at Mahatma Gandhi Government Sandipani Higher Secondary School, Bhopal, where students from Classes 3 to 8 participated in two interactive sessions.
The workshop focused on guiding children towards making positive and responsible choices, understanding dog behaviour, dog bite prevention, and building awareness around rabies as a critical public health concern. As the school campus is also home to community dogs and puppies, students shared thoughtful questions and reflections on safe interaction, what to do in case of a dog bite, and where community dogs can be vaccinated and sterilised. By the end of the session, students voluntarily expressed their commitment to look after the dogs and puppies on their campus, reflecting empathy and responsibility in action.
