STRAW India was invited to People’s Public School to conduct our Compassionate Classroom workshop for students of classes 5–8.
With curious minds, honest questions, and meaningful conversations, the session became a space to explore concepts like speciesism and sentience, helping students question everyday biases and understand why every species matters.
Alongside this, we discussed safe interaction with community animals, dog bite prevention, and rabies awareness, equipping students with the knowledge to better understand and respond to animals around them. Students also raised concerns about animal cruelty laws and agreed that the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, needs stronger penalties and amendments.
Always thankful to @helpanimalsindia for their support.
