40 children from Delhi, Bangalore, Bhopal and Hyderabad came together to explore Flynn’s the peacock and the mystery behind his missing feather's story.
We spoke about how, even though the Indian peacock is our national bird, we still take and use their feathers for decoration and crafts. We discussed how this reflects the way animals are used and exploited, and why laws like the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 exist to protect them.
What stood out was the clarity children brought into the space. They spoke about how animals experience pain, hunger and thirst just like us, and why that means their bodies are theirs, not ours to use.
