We spent a wonderful day at the Kala Kshetra Summer Camp, collaborating with the Disability Reading Circle for a very special workshop. Together with the children, we dove into books and big conversations about the struggles faced by street dogs, the lived experiences of people with disabilities, and the true meaning of inclusion.
The children truly opened their hearts. After reading, they shared how difficult it must be to navigate the world with different disabilities. They even beautifully pointed out that animals can have disabilities too, and deserve just as much care and understanding.
To help express these big emotions, the reading session was followed by a wonderful art workshop led by Karthik where the kids drew their visions of a kinder, more inclusive world. Huge gratitude to Kala Kshetra for hosting us, and to the children for opening their minds and hearts so completely.
Together, we’re creating a compassionate world for humans and animals, one child at a time.
