In our recent Stories of Kindness session, children journeyed into the world of horses through the poignant tale of The Winged Wonder. What began as a simple story unfolded into something deeper, a reflection on how horses, often used for joyrides and weddings, are seen more as decoration than as living, feeling beings.
They learned about the weight of ornate cloth, the pain of spiked bits, the chaos of loud music, and the realities a horse quietly endures. And then came the most powerful part: the children wrote letters. Words of empathy. Drawings of freedom. A horse finally seen, not as a symbol, but as someone.
