In honour of World Elephant Day this month, we were welcomed by M.S.V.M School, Bhopal, and Esther Grammar School, Hyderabad, to hold interactive workshops on the lives of elephants, our gentle giants.
Students learnt how deforestation robs elephants of their homes and how many of them are forced to suffer for entertainment, carrying the heavy burden of rides. Through stories, reflections, and open discussions, children began questioning these practices and reimagining a kinder world for animals.
By the end of the sessions, they understood one simple truth: we must share our planet with elephants, not take it away from them, and we must say a big NO to animal rides, whether elephants, horses, or camels.
A big thank you to the staff of M.S.V.M. School and Esther Grammar School for their gracious hospitality and for opening their classrooms to these important conversations.
