As part of our World Elephants Day campaign, STRAW India was invited to Vrukksha School to bring alive the magic and reality of elephants. Over two days and five sessions, nearly 350 students from Grades 3–6 explored the lives of these gentle, intelligent beings and discovered why they deserve protection.
Children asked, “Why do humans hurt them when they’ve done nothing to us?” and affirmed, “Elephants should live in the jungle!” Their empathy shone as every student pledged never to ride animals.
The sessions sparked creativity, with children expressing their compassion through art and storytelling.
This was more than learning about elephants; it was about rethinking our bond with nature and embracing coexistence.
We extend our sincere thanks to Help Animals India for their support.
