STRAW India was invited by the Indian Institute of Science, Education, and Research (IISER) Bhopal to conduct our Echoes of Compassion workshop. With 95 participants, including students, faculty members, and even security staff, we explored the lives and struggles of community dogs, and how empathy, awareness, and research can help in mitigating human-dog conflict.
The session also delved into the concept of speciesism and shed light on the suffering of farmed animals, encouraging everyone to reflect on how our everyday choices impact animals. It was a deeply interactive and thought-provoking experience, a true milestone in bringing conversations of compassion into academic spaces.
Heartfelt thanks to the Animal Welfare Club of IISER Bhopal @animalsofiiserb for this meaningful collaboration and for their efforts toward building a more compassionate campus.
A huge thank you to Help Animals India for their unwavering support.
