Thirty one students from IIT Delhi visited Friendicoes Animal sanctuary, Gurgaon on Saturday the 18th of February. The purpose was for a one-on-one meeting with the resident dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, monkeys, rabbits and a few birds.
For many of them it was their first time and there was fear. But, seeing a few having fun with the dogs, the first timers soon took that first step forward, volunteered to come into dog enclosures and encouraged by their friends, they slowly touched and felt them. They also touched and felt he cats, the horses and the donkeys.
Surely, the animals felt their warmth as much as the students did. I am also sure this one step is a big leap for most of them in the sphere of animal welfare.
