In another lively Stories of Kindness event, kids explored the harmful effects of firecrackers on animals, humans, and the environment through interactive storytelling. The stories highlighted how loud sounds and pollution from firecrackers affect animals' well-being, worsen air quality, and pose health risks to people.

In an online storytelling session, children gathered to hear an enchanting tale about squirrels and the importance of kindness to animals through the exciting journey of Chippy the Squirrel. From sharing food responsibly to respecting their homes in the trees, the session emphasised empathy, compassion, and the joy of coexisting with nature. Later, students were given the homework of creating feeders for squirrels from scratch which further heightened their sense of responsibility for these little creatures

Returning to Indic International School for our 2nd Compassionate Classroom session was thrilling. Here we focused on working animals that give joy rides. The students were surprised to learn about the immense hardships faced by elephants, horses, and camels used for rides. Through the session, they developed a deeper understanding of the physical and emotional toll on these animals.

To celebrate Janmashtami, this online session was about instilling values to promote kindness towards cows, the animal that is loved by Lord Krishna. The children were taught to be more responsible when disposing plastic bags which the hungry street cows tend to eat.

STRAW India was invited by Indus International School to introduce their 3rd grade students to the fascinating topic of "Adaptation in Animals," with a focus on the importance of compassion and empathy for animals as they adjust to changing environments. We explored the challenges faced by street dogs, teaching students how to build friendships with them while ensuring safety for both the dogs and themselves.
